A Day in the Life of… Evie Moir, Senior Negotiator

Evie Moir joined MOV8 in January 2017 as one of our Senior Negotiators. Here, Evie talks us through what a typical day entails, her responsibilities and what she enjoys the most about being a Senior Negotiator.   

“Every morning when I come into the work, the first thing I’ll do is print-off any Offers that have come in overnight and have a good look over them. I’ll then speak to my client about the Offer and advise them on it. If they have a few Notes Of Interest I’ll suggest we set a Closing Date for the property.

“After checking for Offers and relaying these to clients, I’ll look at the emails that have been assigned to my workload, listen to voice messages received out of hours and return calls. I spend quite a lot of my day talking to clients about the marketing of their properties and offering advice to help them get the best result possible. I really enjoy talking to our clients as I like to build up relationships with them: you find out why they’re moving and how their search for a new home is going. It’s nice to ask after a new baby if that’s the reason a family is selling.

“Throughout the day, I work alongside a Junior Negotiator. They assist me in chasing-up feedback from viewings and passing this on to our clients. They also help me in putting properties live on our website, ESPC, Zoopla and Rightmove once the photographs and Home Report are completed. My Junior Negotiator and I will also book-in Valuation appointments for potential clients, where one of our expert Valuers will visit potential clients and talk them through the process of getting their home onto the market and we will also send Quotes for our services.

“Part of the reason I love my job is that there’s no such thing as a ‘typical’ day. There are so many different parts to my job that no two days are ever the same. I enjoy speaking to all of our clients and getting to know them better. I also freely admit that I’m pretty competitive and get a rush knowing that I’m helping to sell more properties than the competition and making my clients happy in the process!”

An expert in the field of business development and relationship-building, Laura can be found out and about, meeting potential new clients and recruits for MOV8’s team. Laura also has a large part to play in the development of MOV8’s Corporate and Social Responsibility program, organising events to raise funds and awareness for good causes in our local areas and coordinating donations arising from MOV8’s commitment to donating a significant proportion of its profits to charity. A former dancer and teacher, Laura is also involved in our MOV8 Academy training programmes and trains on customer service, phone handling and networking.
