Robert Carroll, Managing Director and Solicitor

Robert Carroll trained as a solicitor at Maclay Murray and Spens before putting several years of studying Scottish and French law, and two years of legal training, to good use by working as a DJ and pianist in Southeast Asia.

On returning to the UK he worked as a litigation solicitor, maintaining a 100% success record in the courts, before joining international commercial law firm DLA Piper as an Intellectual Property solicitor.

He subsequently trained and worked as a self-employed property sales agent with a multinational estate agency firm and then an Edinburgh solicitors’ firm, bringing nearly 100 properties to the market in his first year.

Out of a belief that neither the existing solicitor nor estate agency models provide the best possible service to the property-buying and selling public, Robert set up MOV8 Real Estate, Estate Agents and Solicitors.

Robert is a certified Success Coach, speaks French and German as well as passable English, is a PADI-certified Advance Open Water Diver, and can be found from time to time singing around Edinburgh with his band, the Vendetta Ride. He is mortified by his photo.

He is passionate about helping people develop to the fullest of their potential and recruits only people who have a passion for people and life.

Scott Grieve, Office Manager and Property Valuer

With a background in management and training in multi-national property and travel companies, Scott has a breadth of experience with unparalleled enthusiasm. Responsible for managing our Head Office, Scott is responsible for the training and development of our team to deliver the very best results for our clients. Scott is the token Australian in the office and has resided here for 11 years, a keen surfer he has swapped the warm, clear waters of the Indian Ocean for the North Sea and spotless Firth of Forth.

Angela Laird, Property Manager (Team Leader)

With more experience in the Scottish property industry, on both the buying and selling side, than you can shake a stick at, Angela brings a laugh and a smile to the office and is always willing to share her sterling chat with our clients.

James Shipman, Property Manager (Deputy Team Leader)

Footie-mad James came to MOV8 in 2012 with a wealth of experience in both property sales, purchase and lettings. Having worked for several leading Edinburgh law firms and letting agents over the years, his youthful visage masks a wealth of property experience that would make Donald Trump weep like someone stole his hair spray. He specialises in negotiating on offers on behalf of our clients, both on the purchase and sale sides of the business, helping people to get their properties sold and to get them the property of their dreams at the right price.

Susan Lamb, Property Manager

With years of experience working in estate agency firms throughout Edinburgh, Susan brings an air of unflappable calm to the sometimes frenetic world of estate agency. Susan is one of our most experienced staff members.

Paul Harvey, Property Assistant

Legal eagle Paul has a career history and depth of experience that would make the main character in a John le Carre novel look decidedly novice. With a degree in English, a career in football journalism, a spell in the Navy, a law degree and a Legal Diploma, it's hard to believe that Paul is in his early 30s. His skill with the English language and his legal knowledge make Paul a formidable part of the team, whether assisting in the purchase or sale of properties for our clients.

Mirja Barton, Property Assistant

Adding yet another flag to our increasingly United-Nations-esque office, Mirja originally hails from the fair land of Sweden and has been a resident of Scotland for several years now. With an incredible CV of customer-service related roles, Mirja has taken her personal passion for property, after buying and selling a few properties in Scotland, and combined it with her undoubted ability to deliver superb customer service to quickly become an integral part of the MOV8 family.

Suzanne Dicken, Property Assistant

U...S...of A!! U...S...of A!! Yes, our Suzanne has been living in Scotland for a while now but comes from the country that pretty much invented customer service. Fascinated by all things property related, Suzanne assists our Property Managers in helping our buying and selling clients, preparing marketing materials and providing ongoing support to our clients throughout the process of the sale of their home.

Kerri Kivlin, Property Assistant

Local lass Kerri is based in Edinburgh and brings a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed enthusiasm to the office. She is always up for a giggle and assists our Property Managers with the preparation of marketing materials, taking care of the admin involved in getting a property to the market and by providing support to our clients through the process of the sale of their home by email and on the phone.

Jean Thayers, Property Assistant

With several years of experience of working in both the mortgage and property sales industry in Edinburgh, Jean has is ideally-placed to help our selling and buying clients along the journey of their sale or purchase.

Our lady in the know when it comes to valuing properties for potential clients, Jenna comes to us with a wealth of experience in the Edinburgh and Lothians property market. Reliable, experienced and friendly, Jenna has swifly become an integral part of the MOV8 team.

Andrew Reid, Valuer

Andrew worked for one of Edinburgh's leading solicitor and estate agency firms for several years and has seen more properties and met more property owners than our Managing Director has had hot dinners. Joining the ranks in 2013, his extensive experience and easy charm are combined with a genuine desire to help property sellers to get the very best price and the best possible service.

Nicola Simpson, Valuation Assistant

With a BA (Hons) in European Studies from the University of Leeds, Nicola works in our Property Management team and is one of the team here at MOV8. Having worked in both our property sales and valuation departments, she brings a wealth of knowledge to the table and her excellent communication skills ensure that clients are put at ease throughout the selling process.

Scott Cameron, Valuation Assistant

Edinburgh lad Scott has been around property his entire life and has brought a level of wit and charm to the office that would make Oscar Wilde drop his pen and go home. Always up for a laugh and absolutely fascinated by property, Scott assists the Valuation Team by providing advice to potential property sellers on the phone and by email, following-up with any questions post-valuation and by helping our Valuers to prepare for client meetings.

David Blair, Property Sales Consultant

The joker in our pack and experienced in more fields than David Bellamy, David now turns his seasoned artistic eye to providing our clients with the best presentation and photographs of their properties when going to market.
